Rachel Gannon

I have been working with polymer clay and beads for the last 10 years. The fusion of my passion for hand crafted design and the techniques that I use, makes every piece of jewellery unique.

In polymer clay I use a method called ‘mokume-gane’ which fuses several layers of different coloured polymer clay sheets together.  Impressions are then made into the clay to create different patterns for items such as pendants, brooches and decorative buttons.

In beading I work with a number of different stiches to produce jewellery in both flat and 3D designs. The repetitive nature of beading allows me to become immersed in my work. I enjoy design work in this area and am developing a range of products and kits.

Most recently, I have been studying at Bradford college (Jewellery Making with Precious Metals) and have begun designing work in sterling silver. My sterling silver and freshwater pearl designs are both beautiful and timeless.
