I have a common story. My day job is an architect. Computers have come to dominate my workplace, creative endeavours and image/technical output. A desire to reconnect with producing work by hand with its inherent problem solving, happy mistakes and disasters (and mess) led me to explore printmaking as a spare time hobby. I am now often engrossed in drawing, carving, inking, printing and surprisingly fussing over paper choices. So, I am a weekend warrior when it comes to printing and literally work off the kitchen table. I have not taken the plunge of putting them before the public before at this kind of event. The prints at the moment are multi block and multi coloured and are studies of the patterns of interesting faces rather than portraits.
